Last year was a banner year for Winston Pro Bono. We won the largest pro bono jury verdict in the firm’s history on behalf of one of the firm’s Racial Justice & Equity CEASE Initiative clients. We played an important role in addressing the migrant crises in New York City and Chicago. We also assisted political prisoners expelled from Nicaragua to file for asylum in the United States and continued our longstanding commitment to protecting the rights of death row inmates in Alabama.

Winston Secures Asylum for Russian Who Was Persecuted Because of His Sexual Orientation
A Winston team helped a Russian man receive a grant of asylum after he fled to the United States in 2022 because he experienced intense state-sponsored persecution and brutal violence simply because he was gay.
